NSFW CHANGES & SEXY MODE (aka Jazz Loves Waffles)
We’ve made some changes that I hope you filthy little monsters will be excited about:
NSFW characters are now available to all players regardless of subscription/account status
If a battle contains a character the AI deems ‘NSFW’, you will be prompted (screenshot) before continuing the battle (see image below)
Characters with sexually suggestive content have flirtier dialogue
Premium Feature: Paid subscribers have the option to disable the NSFW filter (so you don’t have to see the pop-up every time)
Premium Feature: &$!#% Mode has been renamed Edgelord Mode
There’s a few reasons why we have a dedicated NSFW/’Sexy Mode’ for the game:
Avoiding ‘accidental’ naked characters
We don’t want to ‘censor’ our game, but we also don’t want users to be shown NSFW content unprompted. Despite our best efforts, the AI can be unpredictable—it could misread a fairly innocuous character as being sexual in content (such as daenerys targaryen peeing her pants—what I thought was a funny character, the game deemed as sexy and generated a nude character image as a result). Players now get notified when the game generates a nude or sexual character.

We prompt the game to give the characters a reason to be fighting and to regularly chastise each other to make it clear the characters are fighting. However, it also made battles between sexually suggestive characters…unpleasant, and unnecessarily aggressive. This isn’t what most users have in mind with these characters, so we spent a lot of time making ‘Sexy Mode’ more fun. We realized instead of being Jazz vs Waffles, we wanted these battles to be Jazz Loves Waffles, (or, if you have Edgelord mode turned on, Jazz f*cks Waffles). Instead of trying to simply ‘defeat’ the other character, these characters are trying to woo or entice them.
This took many weeks of testing, generating many sexy, funny, disgusting, upsetting characters in order to get the battles just right. However, these are often some of the funniest and most outrageous battles, and it would be a shame to limit it to a small set of users.
Go ahead. Make him. We dare you. AI occasionally flags characters NSFW when they shouldn’t be
Rarely, the AI will deem a character NSFW incorrectly (such as when typing in Ray Bradbury). That’s not fair to the user, and once a character gets flagged, it’s likely to stay flagged. Now, all users can bypass the filter.
